We take a walk through a beautiful river valley and visit some ten wooden buildings from the beginning of the 19th century. Several of these workshops are powered by a water mill.
Our guides will tell you the history of the different buildings, about manners and customs, and will also show you the workshops in action. We will try wire drawing, making pot handles, whisks, springs for mouse traps, hair pins, safety pins, bridle-bits, spring safety hooks and pastry shapes. All these products are for sale as souvenirs. Furthermore we will try spinning wire mesh. In our water powered mill we will grind flour, which also is for sale. We have got our own water power station, which delivers electrical power for the whole museum.
The visit will take a good 1 1/2 hours and, if desired, some added time for a coffee break. We can serve a light snack in our coffee house: coffee with a bread roll or with a bun and a cookie. This must however be ordered in advance, when booking the guided visit to the museum. If you bring your own coffee or picnic basket, you are welcome to use our tables and chairs outside the coffee house.
Modern sanitary conveniences are available for disabled persons and as well as others.
